POINTS OF INTEREST
- On several occasion whilst serving as 1st Officer of the Adriatic, the Captain was Joseph Barlow Ranson. Capt. Ranson commanded the Britannic on her trip from Belfast to Southampton.
- On at least one occasion while he was serving on the Adriatic in 1919, the 4th Officer was Duncan McTavish, former Britannic Officer.
- He served on the Arabic as 1st Officer when she was torpedoed without warning during the 1st World War; the ship sank within 11 minutes. 44 people of the 434 aboard didn’t survive the sinking.
